Sports psychologist, Seun Omotayo has told KickOffNigeria.com that he supports the position of Samson Siasia on John Mikel Obi’s inclusion in the Olympic Games bound national team.

Omotayo said the coach must maintain discipline in the side and if he loses guard other players may want to behave the same way.

“I support the position of Samson Siasia for not including Mikel Obi in the list of players for the Olympic Games.

"If other players had behaved like Mikel we may not have qualified for the games and this controversy over his inclusion in the team would not have arisen. So he did a good thing by nipping indiscipline in the bud.

“One good thing about Soccer is that it is a team game and Mikel cannot be eleven men. The team eventually qualified without his input so I appeal to Nigerians not to over flog the issue.

“We should save the Coach and the team this unwarranted distraction and allow them to concentrate attention on the tasks ahead,” Omotayo said.

He took time to praise the NFA for the appointment of an all Nigerian technical crew for the Super Eagles.

“The decision by the NFA to appoint an all Nigerian technical crew is courageous and a right step that is long overdue. The NFA deserves commendation for these appointments.

“It is also important for the NFA to give all the needed tools to the appointees so as to enhance their chances of building the national team of our dreams.

"There is no doubt about the technical ability of Shaibu Amodu in building a strong team so all Nigerians should give them all the support they need."
